Why is it that the things that seem to cost the most money always happen around the holidays when you need that money?
My trip to NC was not cheap, but we made it work. John bought a new computer (it was his birthday/Christmas present) but that wasn’t cheap either, it was very far from it. The whole computer thing is a long story, but he bought it the day before I left for NC, so that was a big chunk of money gone. The day after I got home from NC John got home from work and told me his check engine light came on and his car is now making an unnerving sound. So off to the mechanic we go. Hopefully it won’t cost an arm and a leg, but his car has over 200,000 miles on it…it’s not gonna last much longer, so we might have to decide whether or not it’s worth fixing or if we need to find another car. On top of that John is being dropped from his parent’s health insurance and I am being dropped as well from my parent’s so John and I will have to start paying for ourselves in just over a month.
We’re so tight with money as is, I’m not sure how we’re gonna make it with more bills to pay. And all of this is happening right before the Holidays. Doesn’t it always happen that way?
Growing up sucks sometimes.
Everyone tells you that you’re going to be poor during the first couple years of marriage, but this freaks me out. I don’t handle money problems well.
Looks like I’m gonna be trying to find another job :/
