Domesticated Diva (in training)

For those of you who don’t know me, I am far from being the next Martha Stewart. I scrapbook and I can bake, but that’s as far as my home ec/creative skills go. I’m pretty limited to the meals I can cook; I’m not very good at home organization; I don’t make my home decorations, and I certainly don’t sew. Or at least, I didn’t.

Yes, that’s right folks. I, Piper, finally opened up my neverbeforeused sewing machine, learned how to put it all together, got it to actually work, and I made something. I sewed something.

Tada! A window valance.

Simple, yes. But hey, even Martha had to start somewhere. I’m pretty proud of it to be honest. I think it looks pretty darn good for someone who had to read the instruction manual just to learn how to put the thread on the sewing machine. The funny thing is, I worked at a craft store for 2 years and never learned to sew. It figures that I would learn how right after I quit and lose my discount hahaha. But seriously. I’m excited to learn how to make more things. I’m gonna need to make one more of these to complete our bedroom, but now that I know how, piece of pie.
